The Digital Morning Routine?

We’ve glorified the morning routines of the world’s most successful people, but what about the shadow side that some of us mortals face daily: The Digital Morning Routine?

I heard this phrase in
Jordan Harbinger's conversation with Ozan Varol: How to Awaken Your Genius (I'll link to it in the comments).

Like me, you probably don't have an intentional Digital Morning Routine BUT you might have a routine that creeps in on the daily.

It goes like this:
📱 You wake up, grab your device and , as if possessed, open a series of apps.  You're on autopilot - you're in Unconscious Competence.

I swiftly skim through messages, emails, and sometimes even LinkedIn, all in a bid to start my day with a clear slate, and assure myself that nothing groundbreaking occurred while I slept.

Truthfully, 9.7 times out of 10, the night passed uneventfully.

So, how do we break free from this robotic procession?

Honestly, for me, the most effective strategy is to delete the app.

That way, when my finger instinctively reaches for it, it's not there. Although a bit inconvenient, I reinstall it later in the day.

It's a tad cumbersome, yes, but it seems to do the trick for me.

📱 How does the first digital interaction of your day influence your mood and perspective?
📱Is there a digital tool or app that you think positively contributes to your morning routine?
