🖲️ If you look at this image closely enough, you might be able to see me holding a secret blue goal-setting totem...

It’s called a Daruma doll.

It’s a Japanese symbol associated with a popular Japanese phrase “Nana korobi yaoki”, which means “fall down seven times, get up eight”...

What a cool way to frame learning, growth, experimentation, giving things a go.

When you start a goal, you draw a pupil on the Daruma doll's blank eye.

Once the goal is complete, you draw on the second pupil (I hope I got that right!).

It was a lovely gift from Katie Anderson, who lived in Japan and runs executive leadership trips there every year!

Actually, Katie gave me TWO of these dolls...which means, I need to lock down 2 goals :)
