Waiting for an elevator is a lesson in patience

(which I'm SO bad at..), or is it just a reminder of how much we hate uncertainty?

Well, not at my hotel on the Gold Coast! I started my week down here hosting a Red Carpet Experience. Here's a photo from the hotel lift. When I pressed the lift button, it gave me an ETA – one minute.

I didn’t stand there second-guessing, feeling impatient. I knew exactly what was happening.

It got me thinking about communication in teams.

So often, we create anxiety by leaving people in the dark, even when we don’t mean to.

Here's how you can lift your communication game (pun intended 😉):
- > Tell your team when you’ll provide the next update, even if the project isn't ready. "Hey, I’ll check back in two days with a progress check."
-> Setting expectations for follow-ups after meetings: "You’ll get the summary by COB tomorrow."
-> Even on emails: "I’m on this! You’ll hear from me by Friday."
It’s small, but it makes a big difference.
How can you press the button on more transparency in your communication this week?
