The #1 thing you need to achieve today.
🤷🏽♀️ Ironically, I sometimes like to procrastinate by watching videos about productivity. Anyone else relate?
I did stumble onto some gold recently, watching Ali Abdaal's recent productivity hacks video, where he shares a neat idea to reframe the #1 thing you need to achieve today.
Rather than answering, "What's the #1 thing I have to get done?" change the question to, "What adventure am I going on today?" because essentially, the best productivity tip is to start enjoying the process.
Once you decide, play some Harry Potter music and get started.
I love how language tweaks can make such a difference. Here are some I regularly use in my self-talk:
✅ "Go on a listening tour" instead of "Conduct Market Research"
✅ "Write a Results list" instead of "Write a to-do list"
✅ "Share my Work in Public" instead of "Share my messy process behind the scenes"
What language do you use to make yourself excited to do the thing, and enjoy the process?
