I love using this guide on the Qantas in-flight entertainment to pick what I’ll watch on the plane.

Guess which rating I use to select the movie?

You guessed it: The Passenger rating.

But isn’t the critic the expert?

That’s where context matters.

I need to know which critic has given the movie this rating. There are some critics I’m aligned with, that understand my taste.

There are other critics out there, who when they give a movie an outstanding review, I know I'll find the movie dull.

I think the same goes for when you decide to take action given by certain experts on LinkedIn. Practice due diligence and seek out whether that expert + recommended action is aligned to where you actually want to go.
