I heard this line from a senior leader in a business, who was about to take on the role of a mentor.

While it sounds cynical, I don't think it is at all.

Often, we look to other companies, other leaders to solve a problem of our own engagement, without actually taking a stocktake of our strengths, what lights us up, and what drains our energy.

We think the fix is to hop onto Seek.com and find a new job, title, company or role that will solve our problem but often, finding a role that truly lights you up requires a lot of intentional reflection.
