At Times Square, celebrating 2000 book sales on Amazon!

(On that note, does anyone know of a book sales aggregator tool that combines numbers from across all publishing platforms?)

There are so many wonderful people out there who host workshops. I don’t see myself as the facilitation expert at all, only someone who wanted to share ideas / make workshop hosting accessible to everyone.

When I started mapping out the avatar for the book, it wasn’t for experienced facilitators or trainers.

It was for Joe, an IT professional at a multinational company. Joe is brilliant at finding great tools to make work easier, and he gets tapped on the shoulder one day from his manager, and asked to share his skills with his colleagues.

On that note, I wanted to dedicate this celebratory post to my facilitators mentors and friendtors, who helped develop my confidence and shared their wisdom and ideas so generously.

Dr Cathryn Lloyd She made me believe this could be a career. I was working in marketing when I saw her workshop at the Ideas Festival in Brisbane. I immediately emailed her, and even today she remains a source of inspiration.

Nikki McMurray generously allowed me to co-facilitate some aspects of a leadership program at work, even though I had no idea what I was doing. She oozes amazing energy and expertise in leadership, and is a brilliant storyteller

Cameron Fee is extraordinary at recalling stories, facts, anecdotes and slicing them in a workshop at exactly the right time. Brilliant, sharp sense of humour.

Steph Clarke always sees a different perspective, and asks the right question at the right time… she doesn’t only do this at workshops, even at a 1:1 level I’m amazed at her ability to reframe a conversation, or situation.

📚 Michael Bungay Stanier If psychological safety could be embodied by a person, it’s by MBS. I remember feeling super nervous even before interviewing him on our podcast, but the second he showed up, he made me feel at ease. He does the exact same thing for his groups.

Jan Keck gave me a brilliant metaphor while working with groups, using the analogy of a swimming pool: Allow them to choose how to participate by dipping their feet in, or jumping all in! He’ll be releasing a book next year on how to encourage vulnerability and move beyond surface level connections.

Brendon Baker runs stuff in workshops you’ve never seen before, because his own IP around leadership, change, simplicity and momentum is so unique. A wonderful reminder to create, not curate.

Joeri - The Magic Sauce 🥫 Want someone to come in and disrupt the way your team or organisation is working? He won’t hold back and he might be thing your business needs right now.

While we usually work solo, workshop hosting is a collaborative effort.

Often, we’re inspired by what we appreciate as participants, and bring that into our sessions.

I know I’ve missed a ton of incredible people off this list, couldn't capture everyone but thank you!
