❌ 2 weeks into the new year and I’ve already failed at one of my 2020 intentions.

❌ 2 weeks into the new year and I’ve already failed at one of my 2020 intentions.

But I’m also making steady progress on another.

What’s the difference between failing at one; and succeeding on the other?

Here’s what I’ve discovered.

⚡️Challenge one: Record a weekly video about my running progress and share on YouTube

❌Didn’t have a deadline for posting every week (unlike my podcast which goes out every Monday at 4pm AEST)

❌Didn’t schedule in a time to record

❌Didn’t have a content plan

❌It was an individual goal - no subscriber base as I was just starting out, so if I miss a week I’m not too fussed (lack of accountability)

⚡️Challenge two: Run 2020kms in 2020

✅ There are short term wins after every run: A hit of endorphins + dopamine

✅Group involvement - a leaderboard on the Nike app which chops + changes, depending if you went on a run that day (a bit of healthy competition)

✅ Every km is tracked which has a direct impact, getting you closer to hitting 2020kms

✅ Doing it first thing in the day + making it a priority

✅ It’s a big enough stretch goal but achievable

✅Facebook community encourages sharing of wins

What are your thoughts on this, how else can we build new habits this year?
